Intel’s Social Media
I had the pleasure of writing and posting Intel’s Social Media Guidelines on Monday. This is the result of many hours of collaborative work from several of Intel’s social media experts.
I’m a part of Intel’s Social Media Center of Excellence and we launched these guidelines to demonstrate Intel’s approach and provide guidance to our employees who are increasingly leveraging social communications as a critical business tool.
In conjunction with these guidelines, we also developed a video training for social media practitioners at Intel. This training uses the same guidelines as the skeletal backbone of the course that is presented by me and other Intel social media strategists. It’s an attempt to share the tribal knowledge of our social “pioneers” to the social “settlers” that will be executing on new and existing social platforms in the years to come.
The training and the new guidelines will enable and enlist Intel’s vast employee knowledgebase of talented, passionate and educated professionals to share and engage in social spaces around the globe. All of this on behalf of Intel and our brand… whether IEEE engineers, product line managers, or developer evangelists.
Previously disparate pools of knowledge capital connecting and collecting in new and unforeseen ways… That’s powerful stuff.
